Learning to learn

‘Learning to learn’ is a website which was created from staff training days and student lessons for students and parents. It features a series of videos, ‘Learning How to Learn’ from TES which focus on how the brain works during the learning process. 

Summer work

As part of the Year 6 preparations to join us in September, we ask students to complete a series of topic-based tasks. This helps to prepare them for the expectations of work in secondary school and encourages a spirit of independent learning and responsibility. These tasks range from Maths puzzles to research about the life of ¹û½´¹ÙÍøÊÓƵ.

Year 6 transition

Fr Antony, our Assistant Headteacher, Chaplain & Head of Department of Religious Education oversees the transition of students from our Catholic feeder Primary schools to the college. Once a family have accepted a place in the college, we will visit the students in their primary school and liaise with their current teaching staff to enable a smooth transition to us. We organise a transition taster day in the summer term to give our new students a flavour of the day to day life of the college. This important day forms one of the events that support the smooth transition of students into our community, coupled with pastoral meetings with teachers and parents, and students engaging in team-building with their new classmates.
